AP and IB Language Credit

Students can receive course credit for higher scores on various Advanced Placement (AP) language exams. Scores on AP exams can also guide placement into an appropriate course for continued study of a language. Completion of a Northwestern University language placement test may also be required to satisfy a language requirement or recommended for accurate placement for continued study.

IB Credit

Northwestern grants credit for sufficiently high scores on most HL (Higher Level) IB exams. Northwestern does not grant credit for any SL (Standard Level) IB exams.
