CourseShare for Non-Northwestern Students

CourseShare Enrollment Checklist for Non-Northwestern Students:
This checklist applies once you have received formal approval from your home institution to enroll in a CourseShare language course offered by Northwestern. Use it to complete enrollment and ensure credit posts correctly at your home institution.

You have been granted permission to enroll in a Northwestern language course. Now What?
  • Office of the Registrar at Northwestern will enroll you in the course via Northwestern registration system (CAESAR).
  • They will generate a NetID and email address so that you can access Northwestern email, Canvas (learning management system), other course platforms, etc.
  • Activate and verify your access to Northwestern’s systems (email, learning management system, course platform) as soon as you receive this information.
  • Get in touch with your instructor asap for next steps.
  • Note all key dates, including the start date, exams, and deadlines specific to Northwestern (quarter system).
After the course ends
  • Confirm that the final grade has been reported to your home institution by Northwestern.
  • Verify that the grade and credits have been posted correctly to your home institution transcript.
  • Retain copies of the syllabus, graded work, and evaluations for your records.
  • Contact the CourseShare site coordinator at your home institution if credit or grading discrepancies appear.
